Here is a little about myself. I was a pc tech, programmer for The Village of Tinley Park in Illinois. Some of the languages I programmed in were Cobol, C, C++, and Basic. Did scripting for Dbase and Lotus. Was a CNA (Certified Netware Admin) . I retired in 1998.Late evening you can find me in the 60+ chat room . As my handle shows I do set in the background a lot. I also like to walk down by the river when not playing computer games. Enough about me, on to computer care. I can not say enough about backing up all your important data. All programs you download from the web. Your bookmarks and addresses. All your data can be burned to CD or another computer or an external drive. Every week (Sunday for me)  I clean all the junk off my computer. I remove all the demo's and old programs I no longer use. I run a spy ware remover, antivirus, clean the reg. and defrag the hard drive. The link at the left will list the programs I use.
